We recently returned from a summer visit to the USA. Maribel visited with childhood friends in Boston. She had a wonderful time reacquainting with them and experienced camping and water parks. I had desired for our daughter to experience the summertime in the south so Catherine and I visited with her grandparents in Virginia. God provided the perfect opportunity for her to do just that. She swam in pools, went body boarding in the ocean, and visited a NFL training camp among many other summer pastimes. Then an unexpected blessing came about when she made a personal decision to follow Jesus and was baptized at a lakeside baptism service. I committed most of my time to my physical well being with a low carb diet and exercise and was able to lose twenty-five pounds and drop a couple of pants sizes.
Also during our time in the states, I was able to help in the office, be physically present at a board meeting, and assist with our IHSIM spring yard sale. I spent time with spiritual mentors that helped me with both personal and organizational decisions. We enjoyed our time with our family and friends but we could not see everyone. Of course, we were very glad to be home here in Guatemala all together just in time for school to start. Now we are back re-energized and excited to continue serving the Lord and being the hands and feet of those who so generously support us with their prayers and financial contributions to our ministry.
